back to life! these are some thing my kiddos did in my absence.
second grade
science
second grade started the unit on matter without me. i find that the start of the unit with the terms (solid, liquid and gas) and finding examples is pretty familiar to my students. they started their matter books. this is nothing new and the idea has been shared by a lot of people. this is just my version. We'll be completing the book this week.

intervention
my mini-locos finished up reviewing fractions. they created fraction creatures from Ed Emberley's book Picture Pie. I had my mini-locos choose a pattern, create it by cutting out a circle from origami paper, creating eighths on the back of the paper, and cutting out the fraction they would need. the book is FANTASTIC! I recommend it for any practice of fractions. there are examples that can be tailored to all proficiency levels.

third grade
social studies
my mini-scholars worked on their timeline of Mary McLeod Bethune and Susan B. Anthony. I threw in a little reading comprehension since we have third quarter testing coming up.
